Lex Meyer: If I was the Devil

Lex Meyer: If I was the Devil: If I was the Devil, I would change the Bible by removing certain things. A little here... a little there... not so much that people will reject it, but just enough to fall short. Things like calling Jesus the "servant of God" instead of the "Son of God", and I would remove things that refer to the real reason for His coming like Matthew 18:11.

I would make people trust my translation because it would be based on really old manuscripts that were modified thousands of years ago. Slight of hand is the key to pulling off such a big vanishing act, so I would get people to focus on the updated language and ease of use of my version, and tell them that the other version is old and out of date. I would not even tell them that thousands of things have been changed and hundreds removed from my version. I would simply say it is updated with easy to read language.

I know there will be a remnant who will see through my deception, but I would accuse them of being closed minded and old fashioned, leading others to think it is actually a bad thing to keep the true Bible because it is antiquated.

I would also provide a variety of my corrupted translations, so people would have choices, and they would feel like the issue is about language preference and not about the actual content. Also, by providing many corrupt translations, it would make it seem like my source texts are more true because everyone is using it. Everyone wants to do what is popular... everyone wants to walk on the wide road.

I would get seminaries and preachers to push my version of the Bible, which would convince the masses that it is a good version. If the preachers and teachers are using it, then their followers will use it without question. Sheep are so trusting, they believe anything their shepherd tells them. That is why I will also fill the pulpits with my shepherds, men and women who believe the lies I tell them.

And even if the preacher is not one of mine, these corrupted translations will help to prevent the true message from being taught from the pulpit.

With my preachers, I would make sure the message is focused on selfish things like "How to have a better life", or "How to receive more blessings"... I would not want my preachers condemning sin and stirring people to repent. Let them teach about God's love, but not about His justice and righteousness, and certainly not about the "Fear of God".

In my Bibles, I would diminish the Messiah by removing things that refer to his nature. John 6:69 is a good example of this. Instead of saying "thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God", I would have my version say, "you are the Holy One of God", and I would definitely remove the blessing for those who "do his commandments" in Revelation 22:14.

I guess its a good thing I am not the Devil. I sure hope he doesn't get the same idea, because so many people would be led astray by those corrupt Bible translations.

New adventure coming up..

Hi guys,
I'm back...
Starting May 2012, I will be spending my vacation with my grandparents who live in Nueva Viscaya. I know, a long road out of civilization, but hey, who doesn't want for a new adventure. My grandparents can't wait for me to get there, and I can't wait to see them. Now, while I'm there, I was thinking to learn how to cook the Ilocano way, so that I could cook for my papa when I get to stay with him on June. I've listed the things that I want to do when I get there,

Things I want to do:
1. Learn FacePainting- I always want to paint on people's faces
2. Learn Portrait Drawing
3. Be The Best at Mudbox
4. More Fashion Drawings
5. Learn how to cook

And lastly, make the craziest hairdo that I can do to my hair-- lol.... 6. Learn different hairdo's.

When I get there, I'll be updating my blog as often as possible, maybe everyday, I'll update you with the hairstyle that I made during that day maybe I'll take a picture of me with that hairstyle, or I'll do it to someone else.. and the dish that I learned how to cook.. I also want to take  a picture of it to show you...

My Papa set me there to gather some pictures for my grandparents 50th Anniversary on 2014, since I know how to do it.. :D ..

Well then, till next time...... Adios....

Hey Willie,

So this is my contribution to your letters project. I’m trying hard to make my handwriting as legible as possible. Ironic considering I draw for a living!!

I've wanted to be a hand-drawn animator for Disney since about the 2nd grade. I remember the moment I realized it as if it were yesterday. I was watching “The Jungle Book”. During Baloo’s “Bear Necessities”, I looked over at my mom, wandering how they created such an amazing, alive character like Baloo. I told her at that moment that I wanted to be a “cartoonist”!! I eventually realized that the job title was “animator”.

I read up on everything I could about animation including “The Illusion of Life” by Frank & Ollie. So I grew up with a great appreciation for the “Nine Old Men”, which made it all the more remarkable when I was blessed with working alongside the direct descendants of the “Nine Old Men” once I finished at CALARTS in 2007.

Dale Baer was my mentor at Disney during my apprenticeship for 2D animation! Dale worked with the “9 Old Men” back on “Robin Hood” so I made sure to bug him often about his experiences working in that era. He was always willing to share awesome stories which made the challenge of showing him my animation something to look forward to!

After my Disney apprenticeship, I was brought onto “Princess and the Frog” as an Apprentice Animator. Finally, my dream was realized!! On top of it all, I had the great fortune of having Mark Henn as my supervising animator/ Mentor. I’ll never forget those long days, drawing non-stop, living the dream, and learning from artists that I looked up to the most!! I continued to work with Mark through the production of “Winnie-the-Pooh”, which was another dream job for me. When I sit back and reflect on my experiences so far, I’m sure glad I didn’t let anything stop me from pursuing my dream. The best advice I can give anyone is to follow what’s true to you, that truth will guide you through the most amazing life journey.

Animation Project

hi guys.. last quarter was a challenge for me, but then thanks God that I finished them all.. Although I'm kinda disappointed in my animation, as it didn't get in the competition. I'm going to tell you what I've been doing the last quarter, and ,if I can, I show you some of my works..

For my Animation 3, I'm kinda disappointed knowing that my advertisement didn't get accepted in the competition. Maybe the animation was the problem, it's suppose t be 30 seconds, but something goes wrong in the animation process. so I cut it to 15 seconds...
well.this is what I did.
Sorry for the low quality. It's suppose to be an advertisement for T-pencil (Thinker's pencil) a pencil made from the Philippines. It's not that famous..

For my Animation 2, we made a face of us, then make it lip sync.. it's kinda cool, since my dialogue is kinda fast.. it's fun. I didn't own the dialogue. I got it from 11secondclub.com . But before we did this, we did some exercises.

For my OJT, we are doing to promote the College of Science and Information Technology, from the prints to website... Thank God that the prints are done..
